The Residency at Lakemore · January 14–18, 2027

There’s no application. Just ask us.

You don’t have to qualify for this week and there is nobody deciding whether you’re allowed in. Seats are booked directly on the Residency page, and that’s the whole process.

But it’s five thousand dollars and four days of your January, so if you want to talk to a person first — book half an hour. It’s free, and nobody is going to sell you anything on it.

Thirty minutes, whichever one you pick

Who do you want to ask?

Either of us can answer anything. But if you already know what’s worrying you, go straight to the person who does that for a living.

Anna — the room itself

Twenty-plus retreats, from Michigan to Banff. Ask her about the week: what the days actually look like, the house, the food, the accessibility of it, what to do about a plan B, how the itinerary works if you’ve never run one of these before.

She’s also the one to ask whether your own retreat idea is a real one, and she will tell you if it isn’t.

Stacy — filling the seats

Twenty years of marketing. Ask her about the part that keeps you up: what it costs to fill a room, what to charge, why the last one didn’t sell, whether your audience is big enough, what you’d actually leave the Residency holding.

If your question starts with “how do I get people to…”, it’s hers.

So you know what you’re walking into

What happens on it.

You talk, we answer. That’s the whole shape of it.

  1. You tell us what you’re building — or that you don’t know yet, which is a real answer and one we hear often.
  2. We answer the thing you actually called about. Money, dates, the room, whether January in Michigan is a problem for you.
  3. If the Residency isn’t right for where you are, we say so, and we tell you what we’d do instead. Sometimes that’s the $19 Guild. Sometimes it’s nothing yet.
  4. Then the call ends. There is no follow-up sequence and no second call to get to the price — the price is on the site.

Rather write than talk? [email protected] reaches the three of us, and one of us replies within three days.

Not ready for $5,000?

Then don’t book yet. The Guild is $19 a month, you can leave whenever, and it’s an honest place to work out whether the Residency is worth it to you.
